VEHICLE DISCRIMINATING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to discriminate the kinds of many vehicles without changing the vehicle-kind discriminating CPU and the like by comparing the device code provided in the electronic device of the object vehicle and the device code that is set in correspondence with it when the vehicle-kind data of the object vehicle and the preset vehicle-kind data agree with each other. SOLUTION: A vehicle-kind judging means 7 of a discrimination control means (CPU) 6 inputs the vehicle-kind data WD inputted from a vehicle-kind discriminating tester 1 as the vehicle-kind data DS, compares the data with the preset vehicle-kind data DV of a data memory means 5 and discriminates the vehicle as the 'default vehicle kind' when the data do not agree. When the data mutually agree, the device code DC provided in the electronic control device is outputted. An input-device-code judging means 8 compares the code with the device code NA of the unit A of an electronic control unit 3. When the codes agree, 'vehicle-kind settlement' is discriminated. Thus, the discrimination of the many vehicle kinds can be performed without changing the CPU and software for the vehicle-kind discrimination only by preparing the data table of the device codes in correspondence with the vehicle-kind data of the number of the object vehicle kind for the discrimination.
