APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MULTIMEDIA USER BEHAVIOR DATA COLLECTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method by which dynamic and accurate user behavior data are efficiently collected by using a TV and a PC. SOLUTION: This collection apparatus is provided with a read means 16, that connects to a status register 14 receiving a status signal denoting states 10, 12 of a TV and with a processing means 22 which stores data denoting the state of the TV from the read means 16 to a memory 24, when a change detection means 20 of a status signal detects a change in the status signal. When the change detection means 20 detects a change in the status signal, the means 20 gives an interrupt signal to the processing means 22, and the processing means 22 stores viewing behavior data read by the read means 16 to the memory 24 in response thereto. Through this configuration, the viewing behavior data collection device collects data dynamically and accurately, without collecting many wasteful data, and the collected data can be analyzed later from various aspects.
