BENZENESULFONAMIDE COMPOUND, ITS PRODUCTION, PROSTAGLANDIN E2 RECEPTOR ANTAGONIST CONTAINING THE SAME AS ACTIVE INGREDIENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound capable of strongly binding to EPI receptor which is a sub type of prostaglandin E2 receptor and antagonizing and useful as an analgesic, an antipyretic and a therapeutic agent for frequent urination. SOLUTION: This compound is represented by formula I [formula II is formula III or the like; R is OH, a 1-4C alkoxy or the like; R is H or a 1-4C alkyl; R and R are each 1-4C alkyl, a halogen or the like; R is H, a 1-4C alkyl, a halogen or the like; Y is a cis-vinylene or a trans-vinylene; overlapped part of a wavy line and straight line is single bond or double bond), e.g. 6-[(2S,3 S)-3-(2,4-dichlorophenylsulfonylaminomethyl)bicyclo-[2.2.2]octan-2-yl] -5Z-hexenoic acid. The compound of formula I is obtained by e.g. a method subjecting a compound of formula IV (R is a 1-4C alkoxy) to amidation reaction with a compound of formula V (X is a halogen) and, as necessary, subjecting the reaction product to hydrolysis reaction under alkaline conditions, etc.
