BOTTOM DIE OF FINISHING DIE FOR FORMING GLASS PRODUCT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject bottom die for foot pressing of glass products, which prevents biting of a parison, thereby decreasing defective products and increasing product yield. SOLUTION: This bottom die is provided with a guide ring 4 which can move freely in the vertical direction to project out of the upper surface 1 of the bottom die and retreat to have its upper surface aligned at the upper surface 1 of the bottom die. The guide ring 4 projects out of the upper surface 1, when the bottom die is open to receive a parison P, in order to check expansion of the parison bottom. Its upper surface is aligned at the upper surface 1 of the bottom die, when the bottom die is closed. When parison P hangs down by gravity to contact the bottom die, the guide ring 4 projecting out of the bottom die checks lateral expansion of the parison bottom to prevent biting of the parison P. The guide ring 4 retreats to have its upper surface aligned at the upper surface 1 of the bottom die, when the bottom die is closed, and provides no obstacle to forming glass products.
