OPERATION OF COKE DRY QUENCHING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for operating a coke dry quenching apparatus whereby the occurrence of cuts in joints or cracks of bricks on the inner tube brick wall of a spare chamber of a coke dry quenching apparatus is prevented. SOLUTION: In an operating method for a coke dry quenching apparatus which comprises a cooling chamber 1, a spare chamber 2 installed above the cooling chamber 1, and an annular duct 4 formed around the outer periphery of the spare chamber 2 and in which the spare chamber 2 and the annular duct 4 are separated by an inner tube brick wall 3 having a brick-laid structure; a plurality of gas release holes 5 for releasing a cooling gas are arranged annularly between the cooling chamber 1 and the spare chamber 2, and the spare chamber 2 is connected to the annular duct 4 via the gas release holes 5, the temps. of the surface layers of the inner tube brick wall are measured with thermometers 6, 7 arranged at the front and back sides of the brick wall 3 and the amt. of air, air with water added, or N2 supplied into the spare chamber 2 is adjusted so that the temp. difference between the front and back sides does not exceed 350 deg.C.
