INTERNET FACSIMILE EQUIPMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decide automatically a transmission path of message data by recognizing whether or not an opposite terminal has an Internet facsimile function in the process of communication through a public channel. SOLUTION: A public channel control section 5 superimposes information denoting presence of an Internet facsimile function on a signal for communication control protocol. A storage function identification section 24 reads the information of the presence of the Internet facsimile function in an opposite terminal 102 based on data stored in a memory and stores the information to a storage function table 9. A communication path decision section 23 decides a transmission path of message data based on the information stored in the storage function table 9.
