DISPLAY METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CHANGE OF FILE CONTENTS AND MEDIUM RECORDING DISPLAY PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display the file comparison result in an easy-to-see way by preparing the different image parts to show the changed parts and switching these parts in response to the external switching commands. SOLUTION: A screen showing the file comparison result consists of an attribute area 311 and a text area 312. The area 311 shows the icons of 'change', 'addition' and 'deletion', and the area 312 shows the file contents. At a 'non-common part' 316, the uncorrected and corrected file contents are put on each other or vertically aligned and displayed. In a 'non-expanded state' 314 where both file contents are put on each other and displayed, only either an unupdated or updated file is displayed. In a 'developed state' 315, the unupdated and updated files are vertically aligned and displayed. The states 314 and 315 are switched to each other when the 'non-common part' 316 is clicked by a mouse.
