Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device where the proportion of the actual picture size to outward dimensions of a display substrate is increased. SOLUTION: This device is provided with an array substrate 32, where a picture element array part and a driving circuit are formed, and a flexible printed circuit(FPC) 31 which supplies an external signal to the array substrate 32 from the outside. When the FPC 31 is adhered to the array substrate 32, a pad 34 formed on the FPC 31 and a pad 35 formed on the array substrate 32 are arranged to face each other. Then, a capacity with the array substrate 32 as a dielectric is formed between pads 34 and 35, and each external signal is transmitted to the array substrate 32 through this capacity. Thus, the press- fitting area of the FPC 31 is unnecessary, and outward dimensions of the array substrate 32 are reduced. Consequently, the proportion of the actual picture size to outward dimensions of the liquid crystal display device is increased.
