Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an uninterruptible power unit which suppresses an increase in cost and besides is high in reliability by putting the sound part to practical use for a power supply system as far as possible. SOLUTION: This power unit is provided with a forward converter 2, composed of a bridge circuit wherein a semiconductor switch is used, a filter, a power inverter 3, and a forward converter 4. The forward converter 4 is made a spare for other converters 2 and 3. At normaltimes, AC power is supplied to an AC power source 1 → SA2 → the forward converter → SD2 → a battery 6 → SD3 → the power inverter 3 → SB3 → SC3→ and a load 5. When the forward converter becomes faulty SA4 is closed by opening SAD, and when the power inverter 3 becomes faulty, the SB4 is closed by opening 3 so as to operate the power inverter 4.
