AUTOMATIC TICKET EXAMINING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect passage above the path before the clerk counter of a ticket barrier without using any obstacle such as a pole part when an automatic ticket examining machine is installed in the path. SOLUTION: Instead of detecting passage above the path by detectors 8 to 10 provided to the pole part stood above the automatic ticket examining machine 1a before, the passage above the path is detected by sending and receiving light between a reflection type detector provided on the top surface of the automatic ticket examining machine and a reflection plate 19a provided above the counter on the opposite side across the path.
