RETRIEVAL PROCESSOR AND STORAGE MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently retrieve information frequently used especially on a local network by a simple user interface by providing a storage part storing the identification information of a processor to be inquired and a means for inquiring the information to the processor based on an information retrieving request. SOLUTION: The personal computer 20 of a user 10 is provided with the user interface 21 executing processing for retrieving information. Receiving the instruction of information interval from the user 10, the user interface 21 retrieves its own data base 24 and requests retrieval to another personal computer 30. In addition the personal computer 20 is provided with a database 24 managing which personal computer knows the existing place of what kind of information, a program 22 for retrieving the database 24 and a program 23 for updating the database 24. Another personal computer 30 connected to the personal computer 20 of the user 10 through the local network 100 is also provided with a user interface 31, etc., similarly to the personal computer 20 of the user 10.
