METHOD FOR PREVENTING MOVEMENT OF COATED OPTICAL FIBER OF GROOVED SPACER TYPE OPTICAL CABLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily prevent the coated optical fibers in the grooved spacer type optical cable from moving with a sufficient holding force. SOLUTION: This coated optical fiber movement preventing method prevents the coated optical fibers 2 of the grooved spacer type optical cable 1, comprising of a spacer 3 having grooves 4 at its outer periphery, the coated optical fibers 2 inserted into the respective grooves 4 of the spacer 3, a pressing winding tape 6 provided to the outer periphery of the spacer 3, and a jacket 5 provided to the outer periphery of the pressing winding tape 6, from moving in the grooves 4. In this case, the spacer 3 is exposed by removing the pressing winding tape 6 and jacket 5 at a given part of the grooved spacer type optical cable 1 and given parts of the grooves 4 at the exposed part of the spacer 3 is filled with a filler 7, a slit cap 8 is arranged surrounding the part filled with the filler 7, and an adhesive is made to flow in the slit part 8a of the cap 8.
