Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect defects in an image pattern without comparing them with good product templates and design data. SOLUTION: In this method, a defect detecting means properly adaptable to a mismatch as the margin of a good product and the standard change of an object is used to extract defect candidate patterns out of the distribution of the directivity of characteristic patterns of wiring pattern images (202, 203) and perform feature analysis of the defect candidate patterns for defect judgement. In this way, proper adaptability to a mismatch as the margin of a good product and the standard change of an object is ensured and a wide range of acceptance for alignment allows the construction of a simple system.
