Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject novel compound that has stronger antifungal activity against fungi. SOLUTION: This compound is represented by formula I (R is H, a lower alkyl). The compound of formula I is prepared by culturing a microorganism belonging to Chaetomium venezuelense or its mutant capable of storing a compound of formula II, collecting the compound of formula II from the culture mixture, when necessary, converting the compound to the one in which R is a lower alkyl group. The preferable daily dose of this compound is 0.1-100 mg/kg in the case of oral administration and 0.01-100 mg/kg in the case of parenteral administration.
