Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid-type air conditioner for a vehicle, in which an engine as well as an electric motor are used as the driving source for a compres sor, which can maintain both good air conditioning performance and accelerating performance, which can cleanse the exhaust gas at the time of both quick and gentle acceleration which can save the electric power, and which can restrict an increase of the size of a car-mounted battery. SOLUTION: Whne a vehicle-state judging means 10 judges that a load exceeding the slow acceleration is being given to an engine 2, a driving selecting part 11 turns a clutch 4 off in order to perform 'acceleration-cut', in which a compressor 1 is driven by an electric motor 3. In this case, the smaller the engine-load, or the larger the cooling load, the shorter the time for the 'acceleration-cut' is set. Thus, the electric power consumption can be reduced, while an increase of the size of a battery can be restricted, compared with the case in which the electric motor 3 is operated simply up to the gentle acceleration.
