COATING FINISHING METHOD AND COATED ARTICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the contamination resistance, contaminant-removing properties and weatherability by using a specific inorganic oxide sol and/or a specific organo silicate and/or a condensate thereof as an agent to hydrophilize an overclear coating. SOLUTION: In the method for coating-friushing the outerior plate of an automobile or the like, first a colored base coating, a clear coating and a transparent primer are applied on a base material and an overclear coating is applied to performed a baking process. In this case, the overclear coating is prepared by using 30-90 wt.% resin component, 10-70 wt.% curing agent component and 1-50 wt.% agent to hydrophilize a coating in terms of a ratio to a non-volatile content. Then, the agent to hydrophilize the coating is prepared by using (a) an inorganic oxide sol selected from an aluminum oxide sol, a silicon oxide sol or the like, or (b) an organo silicate represented by a formula: (R )n -Si-(OR )4-n (wherein, R , R are each hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or the like; n is 0 or 1), a condensate thereof or the like, or both of (a) and (b).
