Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily produce a highly active catalyst with a long length and moreover, to produce a highly active catalyst with high quality by forming a metal layer with controlled crystal structure on a catalyst carrier. SOLUTION: A raw material source 2 set in an evaporation part 1 is evaporated by heating to the evaporation temperature and the vapor of the raw material source 2 in the evaporation part 1 is supplied as a raw material gas to a reaction tube 22 by transporting the vapor with an inert gas 5. Then, the raw material gas 14 is brought into contact with a catalyst support 30 installed in the inside of the reaction tube 22 and heated to the temperature of decomposing the raw material gas 14 to deposit the metal contained in the raw material gas 14 on the catalyst support 30. At the time of the deposition, at least one of a heater 31 so installed in the outside of a reaction tube 22 as to surround the outer circumference of the reaction tube 22 in a prescribed width and the catalyst support 30 is moved in the axial direction of the reaction tube 22 relatively to the other.
