AIR BAG FOLDING-UP METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish an air bag folding-up method which is embodied in a simple configuration and nevertheless gives the identical effect without use of any inflation restricting member such as a cord or any spreading restricting member such as an inner sack, etc. SOLUTION: An obverse base cloth is overlapped on a reverse base cloth 3 having a gas generator mounting hole 3a, and their peripheral edges are sewn together so as to form an air bag. A plurality of places at the peripheral edge of this air bag 1 are folded and inserted into the space between the obverse base cloth and reverse base cloth 3 so that a first folded member 20 having a polygonal contour is formed. The first folded member 20 is folded up from the peripheral edge inward bit by bit, and in the circumferential direction of the first folded member 20, is folded up bit by bit until the specified folding-up dimension is attained so that the terminating part of the part folded up in the folding-up process immediately before is overlapped on the beginning part to be folded up at the next folding-up process.
