Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PVC(permanent virtual circuit) system that simplifies the structure of a master station ATM(asynchronous transfer mode) device. SOLUTION: In this PVC communications system which has one master station ATM device 1, 1st to the n-th ((n) is an integer >=2) slave station ATM devices 2 and 1st to the n-th transmission lines 3 connecting the device 1 and the device 2, the device 1 has only one PVC 4 connected to the devices 2 through the lines 3 and ATM cell communication between the device 1 and the devices 2 is performed by the PVC 4. The device 1 further has a pair of outgoing and incoming FIFO memories (not described in the Fig.) connected to the PVC 4, the outgoing FIFO memory temporarily stores outgoing communication data and sends it to the PVC 4 and the incoming FIFO memory temporarily stores incoming communication data received from the PVC 4 and outputs it.
