PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing metal fitting structure which can be used both for a surface mounting type connector and a DIP-type connector, with respect to a connector provided with the fixing metal fitting which is a reinforcing member. SOLUTION: This connector comprises an insulating housing 20 opened in the upper part, connection terminals 21 which lead out plural contact end parts installed in the inside of the housing 20 to outside the housing 20 for providing electrical connection, and fixing metal fitting 12D which are bent rectangularly to reinforce and to fix the housing 20 on a base 11. In this case, rectangularly bent upper part pieces 13D of the fixing metal fittings 12D are fixed in the housing 20, and cut parts are formed from the middle parts of lower end pieces 13E so as to be fixed in the base 11 by soldering in the direction towards the free end parts to widen the creepage surface areas where soldering is carried out.
