SELF-ALIGNING CONNECTOR DEVICE OF ELECTRIC CONNECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-aligning connector device wherein an electric connector device is mounted to a proper supporting structure having a mounting hole. SOLUTION: This device comprises: a front end inserted into a mounting hole 56; a rear end; and a housing 44 having side walls 100 extending between the end portions. At least one deflectable aligning beam 98 is engaged to an edge of the mounting hole 56, and supported in an overhang manner at least one side wall 100 of the housing so as to act the force to a supporting structure 42 wherein the housing is aligned to the mounting hole. Projecting structures hold the beams in an inoperative state where the beams are separated in the outer direction of side walls 100 of the housing, release the beams 98 into a deflectable state, and are coupled in a state where they are capable of operating between the housing 44 and the aligning beam 98 so that the housing 44 is easily self-aligned in the mounting hole 56. The device can also comprise stripping means, which holds the beam in the inoperative state and is likely to be broken, between the housing 44 and the deflectable aligning beam 98.
