Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe power supply device capable of reducing unnecessary power consumption and preventing the occurrence of heat generation or combustion in an AC adaptor, an electric instrument body or a secondary battery by interrupting AC input to the AC adaptor when a portable compact electric instrument including the secondary battery in its inside does not require power supply to the electric instrument body and the secondary battery. SOLUTION: The AC adaptor 1 connected to the electric instrument body 2 including the secondary battery 21 in its inside is provided with a switch 10 for turning on/off an AC input, an AC/DC conversion circuit 11 and an AC adaptor control circuit 12 and constituted so that the circuit 12 turns off the switch 10 by a status signal outputted from the body 2 to interrupt the AC input. Consequently the safe power supply device corresponding to power saving can be obtained.
