Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the reliable sealing of a reference gas passage easily. SOLUTION: A partition 18 on the side close to a gas to be measured in a sensor element 14 tightly positioned and located in a housing 12 comprises at least one electrode exposed to the gas to be measured, at least one electrode exposed to a reference gas, and a reference gas passage 24 extended along the length of the sensor element 14. The reference gas passage 24 is opened to a partition 20 on the side far from the gas to be measured and is connected to a reference gas source 30. Further, contacts for contacting and connecting the electrodes of the sensor element 14 are provided on the side far from the gas to be measured. The reference gas passage 24 is opened to a large surface 34 provided for the sensor element 14 and is sealed by surface sealing seating parts 78 and 80.
