Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a differential device to prevent the generation of noise and the occurrence of wear and improve durability and stably exert a low pre-load, in a structure wherein a pre-load is exerted. SOLUTION: A differential device comprises a differential case 3; a pair of side gears 11 and 13 on the output side coaxially rotatably supported in the differential case 3; a plurality of containing holes 25 and 27 arranged facing each other in parallel to the rotary shaft of the differential case 3; a pair of pinion gears 31 and 33 slidably rotatably contained in the containing holes 25 and 27 and engaged with side gears 11 and 13, respectively, and engaged with each other; and a coil spring 21 arranged between the side gears 11 and 13, having opening parts fitted in each other, and integrally formed in a rotation direction, and incorporated in a pair of pistons 17 and 19 and rotated integrally with the pistons 17 and 19 and energizing the side gears 11 and 13 separately away from each other.
