PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily allow a user to know whether a bi-directional automatic ticket examination device is set for entrance or exist. SOLUTION: A bi-directional automatic ticket examination device in which one ticket examination passage can be used for both entrance and exit is provided with a setting means for setting the main body of the ticket examination device only for entrance or exit, and display control means for displaying a mark different from a mark indicating the approach inhibition to the ticket examination passage when this device is set available for both entrance and exit at a guide display part provided at the exit side or entrance side of the main body of the device when this device is set only for entrance or exit.
