FINGERPRINT READING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fingerprint reading device for improving fingerprint reading precision without being affected by any disturbing light. SOLUTION: A fingerprint reading face 44 on which fingerprint is placed is irradiated with lights, and the lights are fully reflected on the fingerprint reading face 44, and return lights including the picture information of the fingerprint are received so that the fingerprint can be optically read in this fingerprint reading device 10. In this case, this fingerprint reading device is provided with a light source 30 for emitting a light in a single color an optical member 34 having the fingerprint reading face 44 an image pickup element 38 for reading the return lights including the picture information of the fingerprint which are fully reflected on the fingerprint reading face 44, and operating optic/electric signal conversion, and optical pass filter 80 for allowing only the wavelength band of a light flux emitted by the light source 30 to pass between the fingerprint reading face 44 and the image pickup element 38.
