PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging method of powder which can uniformly spread the powder or molten steel surface in a mold for continuous casting. SOLUTION: At the time of adding the powder onto the molten steel surface in the mold for continuous casting, after supplying a prescribed quantity of powder 4 on a charging chute, the charging locus of the powder pushed out with a pusher 6 is changing by making adjustable of the feeding speed into the charging chute with the pusher. In this way, regardless of wide or narrow part of the mold, even in the case of being the wide part of the mold, the spreading of the of the powder in the wide direction, can be uniformized and particularly, a large equipment is unnecessary and this powder spread can be executed in the simple method.
