LIGHT EMITTING ILLUMINATION UNIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily attach an illumination unit to an image pickup device main body through one action, to integrally house a video light and a flash light in the unit and to make the video light and the flash light irradiate a subject with the quantity of light in accordance with atmospheric illuminance. SOLUTION: The video light 1, the flash light 3 and a light quantity adjusting circuit to adjust the quantity of the light irradiating the subject by the video light 1 or the flash light 3 according to the detected illuminance of image pickup atmosphere and an image pickup condition are housed in a housing 6A. The housing 6A is attached to/detached from the image pickup device main body by a coupling projecting part 5 through one action, so that it is smoothly carried and smoothly attached to the image pickup device main body. By attaching and using it, the video light 1 is automatically turned on by the light quantity adjusting circuit when illuminance is insufficient, and the moving picture and the still picture of the subject are picked up and recorded with good quality. When the flash light 3 is used, the flash light 3 emits the light at accurate light emitting time by the light quantity adjusting circuit, and the still picture of the subject is picked up and recorded by preventing a quality deterioration situation from being caused.
