Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a bottom electrode for DC arc furnace which is composed of an iron core and a refractory material to be used stably for a long period by eliminating the cracking and abrasion of the electrode resulting from the thermal spalling or baked clinkers in the initial stage of the use of a burner by precasting the refractory material at the time of manufacturing the electrode. SOLUTION: After a prescribed amount of water is added to a mixture having a prescribed chemical composition and the mixture is kneading, the castable refractory material is molded by pouring the material into a frame mold in which an iron core is set while the frame mold is vibrated. After 24 hours, a bottom electrode for DC arc furnace composed of a compact high- strength precast block is obtained by drying the molded product at about 110 deg.C for about 24 hours after removing the frame mold. When the furnace electrode composed of the precast block is set, the electrode can be installed easily by anyone and can be used stably for a long period.
