RESISTANT FILM TYPE INPUT DEVICE AND POSITION DETECTING METHOD THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resistant film type input device small in size, fast in signal processing speed and capable of detecting two points pressed at the same time and to provide a position detecting method therefor. SOLUTION: By switching a switching means respectively connected to electrodes Xa1 , Xa2 , Xb1 and Xb2 , a resistance measuring means is connected between the electrodes Xa1 and Xa2 and when full resistant films 10 and 11 are mutually conducted at two points P1 and P2 in the state of opening the electrodes Xb1 and Xb2 , resistance Rx1 between the point P1 closer to the electrodes Xa1 and Xa2 and the electrode Xa1 is measured by the resistance measuring means so that the X coordinate of the point P1 can be found from this measured value. Next, when the switch means is switched, the electrodes Xa1 and Xa2 are opened and the resistance measuring means is connected between the electrodes Xb1 and Xb2 , resistance Rx3 between the point P2 closer to the electrodes Xb1 and Xb2 and the electrode Xb1 is measured by the resistance measuring means and from this measured value, the X coordinate of the point P2 can be found.
