Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-reliability inexpensive liquid crystal display device with which the whole surface of a liquid crystal display member can be uniformly illuminated in simple component configuration when the liquid crystal display member is provided with a back light function. SOLUTION: This device is constituted by providing a conical light shield plat 13A, which is spread on the side of a light emitting body 2, while being arranged in front of the light emitting body almost concentrically with the light emitting body 2 at prescribed intervals and mounting a liquid crystal display member 5 onto a frame body 13 through a light scattering plate 14 made of a semitransparent or milky resin at prescribed intervals in front of this light shield plate 13A. Thus, the high-reliability inexpensive liquid crystal display device can be provided for uniformly illuminating the whole surface of the liquid crystal display member in the simple component configuration.
