ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC COLOR TONER AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the electrophotographic color toner and its manufacturing method enhanced in saturation without processing a colorant in advance and high in transparence. SOLUTION: This electrophotographic color toner comprises a resin and a colorant containing a metal complex dye represented by general formula I or II in which X is represented by formula II; each of L5 -L7 is an N atom or -CR17 =, -CR18 =, -CR19 = in this order; each of R15 -R19 is an H atom or a univalent substituent; one of R17 -R19 is an atomic group capable of coordinating 2 ligands together with the N atom of formula II; each of R1 -R3 is an H atom or a univalent substituent; Y is an aromatic ring or a 5- or 6-membered hetero ring; M is a metal ion and forms 2 ligand coordination bond together with an atomic group formed by X; (m) is 0, 1, 2, or 3; and (n) is 1, 2, or 3.
