THERMAL DECOMPOSITION METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR GARBAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal decomposition method and apparatus for garbage which achieves a higher combustion efficiency and a higher thermal decomposition treatment capacity of a thermal decomposition gas. SOLUTION: This thermal decomposition apparatus for garbage comprises a crusher 2 to crush city garbage T, a drier 3 to dry the crushed city garbage T, a thermal decomposition furnace 4 to thermally decompose the dried city garbage T and a porous particle mixer 7 provided on the garbage introduction port side of a thermal decomposition furnace 4. In the thermal decomposition of the city garbage by heating it in a reducing atmosphere, the city garbage is thermally decomposed being mixed with porous particles while a higher molecular weight compound contained in a thermal decomposition gas generated by a thermal decomposition is modified to a lower molecular weight compound.
