Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball screw with a prolonged life and satisfactory leading accuracy and machining accuracy through suppression of an increase in temperature-rise-based thermal displacement of its screw shank effected by a reduced calorific value during high-speed operation. SOLUTION: This ball screw comprises a screw shaft 18 having a spiral ball-screw groove in its periphery, ball nuts 12A and 12B each having a ball- screw groove opposed to the ball-screw groove in the screw shaft in their internal surface, and rolling elements 16 fitted between the ball-screw grooves cut in the ball nuts and screw shaft for rolling motion. The rolling elements are made up of a material of a coefficient of linear expansion not more than 4×10 / deg.C. A lubricant of a low viscosity is used at the places that need lubricating.
