ROAD PAVING STONE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost by removably providing a designated fitting part in two upper and lower flat members comprising an upper member such as a brick or the like and a lower member made of concrete. SOLUTION: A road paving stone 1 is formed by an upper member 2 and a lower member 3, a cross-like fitting groove 4 is provided in the upper surface of the member 3, a fitting projection 5 fitted in the groove 4 is formed in the lower surface of the member 2 by a high molecular compound such as plastics, rubber or the like, and further a vertical spacer projection 3a is provided on the side of the member 3. The member 2 is formed using one kind selected among natural stone, wood, bricks, tiles, and imitation stone plates, or a combination of plural kinds, and the member 3 is formed of concrete. In paving the road, sand is spread all over the roadbed formed by crushed stone or the like, and stones 1 are arranged thereon. As the lower member having high strength is used and the expensive upper member is made thinner, the material cost can be saved, and as the upper member can be simply replaced, the cost for maintenance and change of design can be reduced.
