Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve sealing property of a fin-in part when a boot is expanded and contracted following movement of a rack shaft and to improve mounting workability of a tie rod mounting body. SOLUTION: A tie rod mounting body 6 having a protrusion 64 crossing the direction of the axial length of a rack shaft 2 is mounted on a rack shaft 2, moved along steering operation by a screw body 7 extending through the protrusion 64 and fastened against the rack shaft 2, and an expandable boot 3 is arranged around the rack shaft 2. In a so formed rack pinion type steering device, the fit-in part 34 of the boot in which the protrusion 64 is fitted has a fit-in inner surface 43a corresponding to the outline of the protrusion 64. A peripherally extending protrusion 35 is formed on the fit-in inner surface 34a, and through contact of the fit-in inner surface 34a and the protrusion 35 with the protrusion 64, sealing property of the fit-in part 34 is improved.
