PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document coloring edition device which can easily vary the display color of an arbitrary part in a document displayed on a display screen and can emphasize the part by color display. SOLUTION: Document information inputted from an input means 4 is stored in a storage means 2 as document information with color information designating a character color and a background color, which are previously set on document information. Stored document information is displayed on the display means 1 by the character color and the background color, which are set by stored color information. The color edition range of the character color and the background color on character information, are stored (CRAS) in the storage means 2 in accordance with the designation of color edition range of character information inputted from a edition instruction input means 3. The character color and the background color, which are inputted from a edition instruction input means 4, are designated (ECRS), and the means 3 changing the character color and the background color on stored color information changes (CTLE) them for the color edition range of character information and document information is displayed on the display means 1 by the changed character color and background color.
