SOLUTION: This compsn. is prepd. by compounding 100 pts.wt. high-density polyethylene with 0.005-5 pts.wt., pref. 0.01-5 pts.wt., phosphite compd. represented by formula I and/or formula II. In the formulas, R is H or 1-8C alkyl; R , R , R and R are each R , 5-8C cycloalkyl, 6-12C alkylcycloalkyl, 7-12C aralkyl or phenyl; X is a single bond, S or -CHR-; R is R or 5-8C cycloalkyl; A is 2-8C alkylene or *-COR (wherein * means bonding to the O side); R is a single bond or 1-8C alkylene; one of Y and Z is OH, 1-8C alkoxy or 7-12C aralkyloxy and the other is R ; R , R , R and R are each R ; X1 is a dihydric alcohol residue; X2 is R ; and Y1 is OH, 1-8C alkoxy or 7-12C aralkyloxy. |
