Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active pixel sensor, which enables the fluctuations of the intensity of detectable light, exerted on the sensor, extending over a range which is wider than the range possible at present. SOLUTION: When the intensity of the quantity of light received is so strong as to saturate the response of an active pixel sensor, a gate capacitor GC is connected with a photodiode D2 in parallel to the diode D2 in the active pixel sensor. As a result, the saturated state of the output voltage of the sensor can be avoided. Since the capacitor GC is not parallel-connected with the diode D2 in the intensity of the quantity of light received of a low level, the sensor can maintain a high-level sensitivity.
