MANUFACTURE OF SQUARE ALKALINE STORAGE BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a square alkaline storage battery that an electrodes group can be inserted in a rectangular cylindrical container with a bottom having a step part near a top end. SOLUTION: An electrodes group guide member is prepared, which is provided with a guide block 11 having a rectangular hole 12 with a shape that is bored through in vertical directions, with a top side being opened toward outside and a bottom side being opened in a step shape to form a horizontal step surface, and provided with skirts 14a, 14b arranged with a bottom end being extended from a top surface of the guide block 11 passing through at least inside surface facing opposite long side of the rectangular hole 12 to downward of the step surface. A process such that a top end of a square cylinder shape container with a bottom is brought in contact with the step surface of the guide block 11, and then an electrodes group 18 such that a positive electrode 16 and a negative electrode 17 are alternately laminated through a separator 15 is inserted from the opened top side of the rectangular hole 12 of the guide block 11, so that both side surfaces perpendicularly with the laminating direction of the electrode group 18 is positioned at the skirt side to be contained inside the container, while having it guided by the skirts 14a, 14b is provided.
