COATING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating method which can suppress the occurrence of coating stripes and can stably perform quick coating. SOLUTION: In this coating method, a precoating liquid 3 is applied on a support body 2 on the upstream side from a coating head 6 in the movement direction of the support body 2, and the support body 2 is run so as to make the gap between the support body 2 and the coating head 6 thinner than the thickness of the precoating liquid 3 applied on the support body 2, and not only a part of the precoating liquid 3 is scraped off by the coating head 6 but also the gap between the support body 2 and the coating head 6 is filled with the precoating liquid 3, and discharge of a coating liquid 5 from the coating head 6 is started with the precoating liquid 3 filled in the gap between the support body 2 and the coating head 6. Coating of the precoating liquid 3 is stopped after the start of discharge of the coating liquid from the coating head 6, and the coating liquid 5 is continuously discharged from the coating head 6 while keeping a prescribed gap between the support body 2 and the coating head 6, thus coating the coating liquid 5 on the surface of the support body 2.
