INTERFACE BOX

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interface box which can improve the serial data communication rate set between a personal computer and a portable information device and also can easily rewrite the program of the portable information device. SOLUTION: An interface box 300 includes an external memory 320 which temporarily stores the communication data. Then the box 300 performs the serial communication with a personal computer PC at a communication rate set in accordance with a general communication standard and at the same time, stores the data in the memory 320. When the data are transferred to a portable information device, the faster serial or parallel communication is applied to increase the communication rate.
