METHOD AND DEVICE FOR INDOOR AIR MAINTENANCE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely and efficiently discharge noxious gas such as volatile organic compound, formaldehyde, etc., produced in a room. SOLUTION: A gas sensor 7 installed inside a room 1 detects the concentration of noxious gas, and if the detected value exceeds a specified value, the exhaust is performed from the room by operating an exhaust fan (ventilator). This device is equipped with a man sensitive sensor 8, and only when a person exists in the room, the ventilator is operated. In case of applying this to a house having a plurality of rooms, this is constituted such that an exhaust fan 3 is provided in the space functioning as an exhaust chamber and it is connected with each room, and that the exhaust is performed from each room 1 through the space. The space and each room 1 are connected with each other by a duct 5, and a damper 6 is installed there. A gas sensor and a damper are installed severally in each room. Only when a person exists in the room, the damper is opened. A toilet 2 is utilized as an exhaust chamber.
