Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure effective for detecting a displacing direction for most effectively solving the problem of slippage and applying this for a real machine when one end of a correction roller is displaced in a specified direction for correction the slippage of an endless belt in a cross direction. SOLUTION: A structure is composed of an endless belt 1 for feeding a recording material, a driving and follower rollers 2 and 5 for traveling the tense endless belt, a slippage correcting roller 8 for winding the tense endless belt provided separately from these rollers and a slippage preventing device 7 provided in one end of this correcting roller, and the slippage preventing device 7 is a displacing means for converting, when rotating torque is applied to a slippage detecting member 9 by a friction force between the slippage detecting member 9 and a part of the endless belt contacted therewith, the rotating motion of the slippage detecting member 9 into a linear motion and then displacing the end part of the correcting roller in a specified direction.
