Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon dioxide gas laser device which is capable of increasing peak output power of laser rays of selected wavelength of 9 to 11 μm to a maximum. SOLUTION: A carbon dioxide gas laser device which excites carbon dioxide gas laser medium to generate laser rays is equipped with an optical resonator 6 that is composed of main electrodes 2 which excite carbon dioxide gas laser medium, a diffraction grating 7 which serves also as a high-reflective mirror, and a partial transmission mirror 8 which is located apart from the diffraction grating 7 confronting it, amplifies and oscillates laser rays generated by exciting carbon dioxide gas laser medium with the main electrodes 2 and the diffraction grating 7 which selects the wavelength of laser rays oscillated by the optical resonator 7, wherein the partial transmission mirror 8 has a certain reflectivity so as to make the peak output power of laser rays of wavelengths selected by the grating 7 as high as prescribed.
