As the ditches A, B, C serve as rails, the width and depth of the ditches of private cars are preferably adapted because most of vehicles are private cars. Vehicles are hardly stuck out of the medial strip even when a driver has fallen asleep while driving. As the recessed ditches serve as drainage, there is little danger that the highway is flooded and useful water can be easily recovered and also returned to ground.
