Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll for preparing vegetables designed to feed a petiole part of a leaf vegetable such as a spinach harvested from a field and mechanically and accurately remove unnecessary lower leaves or cotyledons. SOLUTION: This roll for preparing vegetables is equipped with large- diameter rolls 3 and an endless belt 8 mutually opposite and inwardly rotating, small-diameter rolls 10 and 12 or large-diameter rolls 3 and large-diameter rolls installed so as to rotate adjacently to the large-diameter rolls 3 and endless belt 8 in the opposite direction and small-diameter rolls 10 and 10a provided so as to rotate adjacently to the large-diameter rolls 3 in the opposite direction and is composed so as to feed a petiolar part of a leaf vegetable to the large- diameter rolls 3 and endless belt 8 or preparing spacings 13 between the large- diameter rolls 3 and remove cotyledons and lower leaves from the petiolar part. In this case, the large-diameter rolls 3 can be provided with slits 14 in the vertical direction in the rotative direction thereof to regulate the gaps of the slits 14 of the large-diameter rolls 3.
