ANTIBACTERIAL/ANTIFUNGAL SYNTHETIC RESIN MATERIAL AND ITS PREPARATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing an antibacterial/antifungal synthetic resin material efficiently in a relatively simple way at a low cost and also for preparing various synthetic resin products or parts having a long-lasting antibacterial/antifungal effect at a low cost. SOLUTION: A synthetic resin substrate 1 which is prepd. by blending an additive 2 forming an antibacterial/antifungal material by reacting with a metallic salt and a molding adjuvant such as a plasticizer, a part of them being exposed on its surface, is immersed in a treating liq. comprising a solvent to dissolve the molding adjuvant, an antibacterial/antifungal agent and a metallic salt so as to impregnate the antibacterial/antifungal agent 3 into the substrate surface part and make the additive exposed on the substrate surface react with the metallic salt, thus converting it to an antibacterial/antifungal material 4, while solving out the molding adjuvant from the synthetic resin substrate. As an additive employed, an oxide, hydroxide, carbonate or the like of Al, Mg and/or Ca are cited. As a metallic salt employed, a chloride, sulfate, acetate, nitrate, carbonate or the of Cu, Zn, Ag and/or Ni are cited.
