ANTIPHLOGISTIC-SEDATIVE MEDICINE FOR EXTERNAL USE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject medicine maintaining the percutaneous absorption property of indomethacin and improving the stability of indomethacin by including α-type crystal indomethacin. SOLUTION: This antiphlogistic-sedative medicine for external use contains indomethacin existing as α-type crystal in a base agent, for example, by a method comprising mixing an indomethacin suspension (prepared by homogeneously dispersing indomethacin, a water-soluble polymer, a moisturizing agent, a surfactant, an antiseptic, etc., in a solvent) with a water-soluble gel preferably in a weight ratio of 70:30 to 95:5. The indomethacin is preferably added usually in an amount of 1-40 wt.% to the above-described suspension or usually in an amount of 0.1-2 wt.% to the medicine. The water-soluble polymer is preferably added usually in an amount of 3-30 wt.% to the medicine.
