PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste treatment apparatus which is capable of drastically suppressing the discharge of hazardous materials to the outside and making resource recovery of waste and the waste treatment apparatus which is capable of treating the waste in the state of surely preventing contamination and infection even if the waste is medical waste. SOLUTION: This waste treatment apparatus includes a raw material liquid forming means 3 which forms a raw material liquid by mixing the pulverulent body formed by pulverizing the waste and water, a reaction vessel 2 to which the raw material liquid is supplied from the raw material liquid forming means 3 and the water is boosted and is supplied from a water supplying means 4 and which is capable of causing the phase transition of the water from the liquid phase to the supercritical liquid by heating with a heating means and a separating means 5 which is capable of separating the supercritical liquid obtain. in the reaction vessel 2 to the water and the raw material of the waste. The raw material liquid forming means 3 has a collecting vessel 6 which collects and sterilizes the waste, a cooler (6) which cools the waste sterilized in the collecting vessel 6, a pulverizing 10 which pulverizes the waste cooled in the cooler 6 and formes a pulverulent body and a mixing vessel 14 which mixes the pulverulent body pulverized in a pulverizing device 10 and the water.
